Thiruvananthapuram: The Students Federation of India (SFI) has established a new ad hoc committee at the University college here on Wednesday.
Final year B.A student Akhil, who is undergoing treatment after being stabbed by former SFI unit president Shivaranjith, has also been included in the committee.
A district committee meeting of SFI convened on Wednesday decided to establish the ad hoc committee. Second year M.A student Riyaz, who is a member of SFI state committee and the University union chairman, has been appointed as the convenor of the committee. SFI state committee member Veena, a 3rd year student of the college has been appointed as the joint convenor.
Besides Akhil, primary complainant and primary eyewitness in the attempted murder case - Umair has also been included in the committee. Following accusations that the committee did not have enough female representatives, eight female students have been included in the 25-member committee.
Meanwhile, the flags and banners of SFI inside the college campus were removed as per the decision of the college council.
