Nepotism row: Court accepts FIR against Jayarajan
Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance Court here on Saturday accepted the FIR against CPM leader and former minister E P Jayarajan in a case related to appointment of his relative in a state-owned PSU.
Giving its nod for further probe, the court also approved the Vigilance’s demand for a detailed investigation in the case.
The investigation is moving in the right direction, the agency told the court.
EP Jayarajan has been named as the first accused in the FIR registered by the Vigilance team that conducted a quick verification.
Jayarajan had stepped down as minister in October last year after he appointed his nephew and son of CPM MP P.K. Sreemathy Sudheer Nambiar as the Managing Director of Kerala State Industrial Enterprises (KSIE) Ltd. Sudheer did not accept the post following the controversy.
Sudheer Nambiar and Industries Department Secretary Paul Antony have been named as second and third accused respectively.
