Thiruvananthapuram: Evidence to show that the appointment of K T Adeeb who is the relative of minister K T Jaleel, was done with the knowledge of the chief minister has come out. Documents have come out to substantiate that chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had signed in the document relating to the appointment. The CM has signed in the document recommending change in the qualification on August 9, 2016.

Applications were invited for interview to the general manager post of State Minorities Development Corporation and several persons had attended the interview. But Adeeb did not attend the interview. Later a revised qualification was announced to the same post. The letter written by Higher Education Minister K T Jaleel to change the qualification requirements of the Corporation so that his relative K T Adeeb becomes eligible was released the other day. And following that, CM signing the document has come out now.

Jaleel wanted the qualification for the post of general manager in the corporation to be made BTech with PGDBA so that his cousin could be eligible. Adeeb, his second cousin, has BTech with PGDBA.

There are certain rules to be followed when revising the qualification criteria for any post. The instructions from the concerned department must be sent to the expert committee for verification. Based on the recommendations of the expert committee, the criteria will be revised. This also requires the permission of the Administrative reforms department and legal department. If the appointment is done by the PSC then it requires the consent of PSC too. All this was violated in revising the eligibility criteria, it is learnt.
