Nenmara: Rahman who kept his lover Sajitha hidden in his house and lived with her for 10 years without anyone knowing, is finally getting married to her legally.

Ayiloor natives Rahman and Sajitha are living in a rented house in Vithanassery. They have been living together outside for a while after staying in a single room for a decade. They are all set to get married on Wednesday as per the Special Marriage Act at the sub-registrar office in Nenmara.

18-year-old Sajitha had left her home in February 2010 to live with Rahman, who does electrical and painting related jobs for a living. He kept Sajitha in a room in his house without anyone knowing.

Both of them left his house in March 2021 and shifted to a house in Vithanassery. A police investigation had been going on over the missing case of Rahman following the complaint filed by his family. Rahman’s brother spotted him in Nenmara and informed the police. Rahman and Sajitha’s story was revealed in the investigation that followed.

Police ended the investigation when the couple stated that they had been living together as per their decision. Although they were living together, they had not been legally married. The arrangements for the wedding was initiated by the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham Kollankodu committee. They will also provide clothes and other help for the wedding ceremony. The wedding will take place before the registrar at 10 in the morning on Wednesday.
