Nedumkandam custody death: Former SI’s bail plea rejected
Thodupuzha: Court rejected the bail plea of the former Sub Inspector (SI) accused in the Nedumkandam custodial death case.
The Peerumedu magistrate court rejected the bail plea of K. A. Sabu, who is the primary accused in the case. Court noted that there were serious allegations against the former SI.
Sabu is an accused in the custodial death of Vagamon native Raj Kumar (49) who was arrested in a financial fraud case.
Eight officer of Nedumkandam police station were suspended after it was found that Raj Kumar died as a result of custodial torture.
Former SI Sabu and civil police officer Sajimon Antony were arrested on charges of murder. The government had announced judicial inquiry into the incident.
