Nedumkandam custodial death: Govt job for Rajkumar’s wife; 16 lakh for family
Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet meet on Wednesday decided to provide government job to the wife of Rajkumar, who had died in police custody. Also it was decided to provide Rs 4 lakh each to the four members of the family, Rajkumar’s mother, wife and two children.
Rajkumar was taken into custody in connection with a financial fraud case on June 12 and allegedly tortured by police personnel at the Nedumkandam police station for four days, following which he died at the Peerumedu sub-jail.
The post-mortem report of the deceased and the remand report of the two arrested police personnel had confirmed that Rajkumar was brutally tortured and had several injuries on his body.
