New Delhi: NCP leader and MLA Mani C Kappan on Wednesday alleged that LDF didn’t treat the party with courtesy in regard to Pala seat in the upcoming Assembly election.
“NCP decided to continue in LDF this time as they offered all 4 four seats, in which we previously. But Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has now asked us to contest in Kuttanad instead of Pala. Hence the final decision will be announced on Friday by the national leadership,” Kappan told the media here.
He also expressed hope that the national leadership will take a stance in his favour. He added that his stance can be guessed by the media.
“The issue is not just about one seat (Pala). This is a matter of trust. LDF rose to its vigour after victory in Pala. I have only warm feelings towards Pinarayi Vijayan and the LDF. The CM helped in many developmental projects in Pala for which I am grateful. But asking us to sacrifice the seat to a party, which was defeated in the election, is unacceptable,” Kappan added.
He also responded that he was unaware of any rumour on his candidature from UDF. No discussions in this regard have taken place. The meeting with Sharad Pawar didn’t take place today and it has been postponed to Friday. All decisions will be taken then, he further stated.
