National Strike: KSRTC to operate buses for emergency services

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has made arrangements to operate buses for emergency services on national strike days. A joint committee of the trade unions announced a 48-hour long nationwide strike on March 28 and 29.

KSRTC announced that emergency services will be operated to hospitals, airports and railway stations.

It is reported that KSRTC has taken action to operate services in major routes based on the availability of staff and traffic demand with the help of the police.

At the same time, more services will be operated on Sunday and maximum services and additional services will be made available on Wednesday, informed KSRTC.

Meanwhile, KSRTC operated 3909 services on Saturday in view of the private bus strike. It is reported that 700 additional services were operated on this day. KSRTC informed that more services will be operated in the sectors where commuters depended on private buses.
