Narendra Modi reaches Guruvayur
Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Guruvaur to visit the famous Sri Krishna temple on Saturday. He will spend around one hour at the temple.
The special helicopter carrying Modi touched down at the helipad in Guruvayur Sree Krishna College ground at 10.10 am. The prime Minister was wearing dhoti in the traditional Kerala style. At the Sree Krishna temple, it is mandatory for men to wear dhoti.
MLAs, temple officials, BJP leaders welcomed him with ceremonial shawls and flowers.
The Prime Minister had left the Ernakulam guest house for Kochi naval airport at 9.05 am. From there he left for Guruvayur in a special helicopter at 9.20 am. The helicopter touched down at the helipad set up on Guruvayur Sree Krishna College ground at 10.10 am. From there, the Modi will reach the Sreevalsam guest house by car before visiting the temple at 10.20 am. The Prime Minister will offer Thulabharam with lotus flowers at the temple.
After visiting the temple, Modi will inaugurate ‘Abhinandan Sammelan’, a public meeting at Sri Krishna school ground around 11.25 am. The Prime Minister will return to Kochi naval airport by 12.40 pm. He will take rest at the lounge there till 1.55 pm before leaving for New Delhi at 2 pm.
The public meeting in Guruvayur will be Modi’s first after becoming the Prime Minister for the second time. The Prime Minister has no other public functions in Kerala.
