Nagercoil twin murder: Accused absconding since 2005 nabbed

Pookkottumpadam (Malappuram): Police have nabbed a 48-year-old man who was absconding for 17 years after getting bail in Nagercoil twin murder case.

The person held is Rasheed, a native of Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.

The incident pertaining to the case happened in 2015. Two individuals were killed on the same day over the rift between two businessmen in Boothapandi region. Two cases were registered over the matter. Rasheed was third accused in one case and also the sixth accused in the other.

He had been in Nagercoil jail but absconded after getting bail. According to police, the person had been engaged in rubber tapping work and married a woman from Chulliyode. He also went abroad for a job and returned to native only recently.

Person was nabbed from Chulliyode itself based on the intelligence inputs received by the Pookkottumpadam police.
