Karipur: A Nadapuram native was arrested at Karipur International Airport for a bid to smuggle 1.5 kg gold. The accused has been identified as Harris, who reached Karipur from Sharjah. He smuggled the gold in the form of mixture by hiding it inside the clothes he was wearing.
Customs seized around 1.5 kg gold mixture from his t-shirt, trousers and undergarments. The gold mixture was smeared in the hidden pockets of the dress.
On the previous day, another man was caught by the police from outside the airport for smuggling gold in a similar manner.
