In the wake of school reopening, Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has beefed up measures for assuring that the rights of the students are ensured.

Students can inform MVD about issues like denial of concession, not allowing them to use the seat, hostile behaviour, physical-mental harassment, not allowing them to board a bus and non-stopping of the bus on their request. They can intimate the matter to officials concerned by dialling 8547639002.

The department has already taken action against violators and has made it clear that there will be stringent action over the complaints lodged by the students.

Two months before MVD had published the district wise WhatsApp numbers to which the students can send their complaints. They are:

  • Thiruvananthapuram - 9188961001
  • Kollam - 9188961002
  • Pathanamthitta- 9188961003
  • Alappuzha - 9188961004

Meanwhile, Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation maintained that concession given should be re-fixed by the government as it is not practical for them to take students at present rates as fuel prices are skyrocketing.
