MVD seizes Kerala registered tourist bus using fake vehicle number


Thiruvananthapuram: Motor Vehicle Department has caught a tourist bus with Kerala registration conducting service in the state using a fake vehicle number from Andhra Pradesh. Further, the raid also revealed that the bus lacked fitness and insurance certificates.

The bus was caught while returning with devotees from the Sabarimala pilgrimage. The search was conducted on the basis of a complaint filed by the bus's former owner.

The search revealed that the chassis number was altered besides using fake number plates. The bus was identified to be of Kerala registration after examining the engine number. Later, the bus was brought from Thiruvananthapuram to Kottarakara and handed over to the police.
