Antony Raju
Thiruvananthapuram: Transport minister Antony Raju informed that the state government is deliberating on the proposal to include driving license course in Class 12 curriculum and issuing learner’s license on successful completion.
The proposal has been pushed by Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) and the ‘Road Safety’ book launched on Wednesday will act as base for the curriculum updation. The book has extensively covered topics like:
- road manners, accidents, possible mishaps
- types of vehicles and roads
- users of road, road markings, signs and symbols
- safety mechanisms and their proper usage
- rash and negligent driving
- legal issues and new developments in the spectrum
Raju was addressing a gathering at the event in which ‘Road Safety’ book was handed over to education minister V Sivankutty. Transport secretary, additional transport commissioner among others took part in the event.
