MVD conducts mass inspection of school buses, vehicles carrying children

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Motor Vehicles Department has initiated a statewide inspection of school buses and other private vehicles operating services to and from schools with children.

The inspections will be conducted after the vehicles drop students at schools in the morning. The mass inspections commenced from February 13 and will continue till February 17.

The inspections carried out under the title ‘Safe School Bus’, will wind up before the class hours end. The officials in the Enforcement Department, RTO and Sub RTO will participate in the inspection.

The officials will check whether the vehicles carry more children than its specified capacity.
