New Delhi: CPM is planning to launch protest with the help of public support against the move to disqualify Rahul Gandhi as MP, said CPM state secretary MV Govindan on Saturday. Apart from addressing the matter legally in court, the opposition parties have been taking counter measures on their own terms to address the issue, he added.
"The court's verdict is not absolute. It is not right in a democratic system to oust a person from parliament based on initial judgement. This is a deliberate move to show they (union government) have the power and liberty to handle any person," he said.
He added that the BJP government ousted Rahul Gandhi to silence the opposition in the parliament.
Meanwhile, Govindan said CPM is prepared to face any election, even in Wayanad. He criticized the Congress leadership in the state for their 'soft Hindutva' stand.
