Thiruvananthapuram: OG Salini, the undersecretary to the revenue department, has been transferred to the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education on Tuesday. Earlier, the good service entry of Salini, who answered an RTI query in connection with the Muttil tree felling issue, was removed. She was also admonished by the principal secretary for the same.
Salini is the new assistant director of the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education which happened to be outside of the state secretariat. Bindu RR, who was holding that position is transferred to the revenue department.
Salini was earlier asked to go on leave for two months. Later, her good service entry was cancelled.
Opposition unions of the secretariat have decided to continue the protest till the government remove the revenue department principal secretary Jayathilak who took action against Salini.
RTI activist Pranakumar complained to the information commission that the action against Salini violates the RTI law.
