Kalpetta: The Forest Department's investigation has found that there was a planned attempt to sabotage the Muttil tree felling case. According to the investigation report, Conservator NT Sajan conspired with the accusers.

The report submitted by Rajesh Raveendran, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, contains serious findings against Sajan. It has been found that NT Sajan conspired with the accused in the Muttil tree felling case and fabricated another case in order to sabotage the case.

The conspiracy took place to convince the authorities that the trees that were chopped down on private land at Manikkunnu Mala in Muttil village were actually forest land. They intended to trap the investigating officers in the case and subvert the Muttil tree felling case. According to the report, NT Sajan met the accused in Wayanad and conspired with them.

According to the report, Sajan's intervention as a civil service officer was an insult to the state government. The report also hinted that a journalist from Kozhikode was also involved in the conspiracy.

The report also states that the journalist called the Flying Squad DFO twice to ask about the developments in the Manikunnu hill case. Based on this report, the forest department has recommended that Sajan be suspended. But the CM's office has not yet taken a decision on the matter.
