Muslim League to take corrective measures after poll debacle
Malappuram: Muslim League party stated that they will move forward by self evaluating and correcting after the debacle in the assembly election. This was decided in the joint meeting of high level committee and winning candidates in Malappuram. An expert committee will be appointed for studying the reasons for the debacle.
Muslim League state president Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal said that the organisational system will be strengthened after examining the election results in detail. He added that the party survived the LDF wave in the state.
National organising secretary ET Muhammed Basheer said that the League proved that it is a safe political party by maintaining its strongholds even during crisis.
It was Muslim League that helped decrease the vote share of BJP. The party is seriously viewing the defeat in Tanur and in 4 sitting seats. There is no point in blaming Congress or other allies for the defeat, he added.
The meeting selected PK Kunhalikutty as parliamentary party leader and Dr MK Muneer as deputy leader. KPA Majeed will be the secretary and P K Basheer will act as whip. NA Nellikkunnu was selected as treasurer.
