Muslim League slams organisational system of Cong for poll debacle, to approach Chennithala
Thiruvananthapuram: Muslim League leadership has criticised that the weak organisational system of Congress contributed to the UDF’s debacle in the local body election. As other allies in the front accused Congress of being responsible for the setback in the polls, Muslim League also expressed their disappointment.
Though the Muslim League has obtained majority votes in their strongholds, Congress faced a setback in their strongholds. The congress did not establish a system to prevent it. The difference of opinion between the Congress leaders during the polls also affected the results.
Muslim League leaders are currently attending an election review meeting on Saturday at Thiruvananthapuram. PK Kunhalikutty, ET Muhammad Basheer, MK Muneer and PV Abdul Wahab have arrived for the meeting.
Meanwhile, Congress has observed that the Muslim League's stance on the reservation of forward community also affected the polls. In the background of this, the Muslim League is examining the outcome of their relationship with the Welfare Party.
Amidst this, RSP has come forward with a strong stance against the Congress. Following the Muslim League leaders, RSP leaders will also meet Chennithala before the UDF meet on Saturday.
RSP has been rethinking on continuing in UDF in the present circumstances. RSP demanded that trustworthy leaders should take over the Congress leadership.
