Muslim League opposes Athirappilly project
Kozhikode: IUML general secretary KPA Majeed said that the party will not permit the Kerala government to implement the Athirappilly hydroelectric project.
He said the state government is cheating the public by going ahead with the project.
“The government is not bothered about the environmental impacts. The UDF has decided to oppose the project and I don’t think there is a difference of opinion between the constituents,” said Majeed.
Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had made a statement supporting the project. Accordingly, it was alleged that the UDF is divided over the project. Against this backdrop, the Muslim League has come out with their stance.
