Kozhikode: The league is strengthening measures against the Haritha leaders who complained against the misogynist comments made by MSF leaders. It is learnt that the league arrived upon the conclusion to dismiss the committee following the Haritha leaders’ unwillingness to compromise in the meeting held by the League for an agreement.

The League decided to dismiss the committee following the stubborn stand taken by both sides. The League said that they will consider the measures if they withdraw the complaint and Haritha said that they will withdraw if the League takes necessary measures. The State General Secretary of the League, P M A Salam had earlier pointed out that the complaint filed by Haritha in the Women's commission while the matter was being reviewed by the party was violation of discipline. MSF had also asked to take measures against Haritha for violating discipline. Although Munavvar Ali Shihab held a meeting with the Haritha leaders, they decided to dismiss the committee after they were unwilling to compromise on the matter.

Ten girls from Haritha filed a complaint with Women's Commission against MSF State President P K Navas and MSF Malappuram district secretary V Abdul Wahab for their misogynist remarks. They were asked to take back the complaint. In the MSF meeting convened in Kozhikode, P K Navas spoke to the Haritha members in a derogatory manner saying that even prostitutes might have explanations. The Haritha leaders justified that they filed a complaint with the Women’s commission after the league failed to act in the matter even after filing complaints in the past.

It is speculated that the party has decided to halt the activity of Haritha at the state and district levels. Currently, Haritha functions in Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kannur, Kasargod, Wayanad, and Palakkad districts. Adv Fathima Thwahani, Malappuram District president, opined that it is not right to put the party on gunpoint over this matter. She also added that she will stand with the party. The Malappuram district committee is the only Haritha District committee supporting the MSF state president, P K Navas.
