Muslim League entrusts P. K. Kunhalikutty with election responsibilities
Malappuram: Muslim League leader and Malappuram MP P. K. Kunhalikutty is returning to state politics. Muslim League entrusted him with the responsibilities related to the elections in the state. Also the responsibilities in the national level was entrusted with E. T. Muhammed Basheer.
Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal informed the party decision after the high level meeting of Muslim League. Hyderali Thangal pointed out that IUML and UDF have won elections in the past when Kunhalikutty was given the election responsibilities.
Ponnani MP E. T. Muhammed Basheer stated that Kunhalikutty's presence in Kerala politics was unavoidable. He added that the decision regarding fielding Kunhalikutty in the assembly election will be taken when it is time.
After the meeting, P. K. Kunhalikutty said that many elections were upcoming and a huge challenge was lying ahead. The current administration is creating an adverse situation in Kerala and the people have not benefited from it, he stated.
Muslim League has entrusted Kunhalikutty with the complete responsibility of the by-election, local body polls and assembly election next year. They evaluate that Kunhalikutty's presence is essential to maintain unity in UDF and to win the polls.
