Muslim League distances itself from Mullappally Ramachandran's comment on KK Shailaja
Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has distanced itself from the comments made by Mullappally Ramachandran about Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja.
Muslim League General Secretay KPA Majeed said that the comment should have been avoided and that the KPCC chief should decide himself whether he should withdraw the comment or not.
KPA Majeed clarified that his party will not defend Mullappally even when the Congress rallied behind its state chief. Majeed stated that this kind of a comment should not have been made by a leader like Mullappally Ramachandran.
When asked if Mullappally should apologise, Majeed stated that it was up to the Congress leader to decide.
The Muslim League is of the opinion that with this comment, the government has been handed over the political advantage.
Even though there were many topics including that of the expats to corner the ruling party, the KPCC president's opinion was equal to providing ammunition to the government. However, IUML did not want to comment further on the incident.
Muslim League blamed the Chief Minister for accusing the entire opposition for the comment made by Mullappally Ramachandran.
