Kozhikode: Though MSF state president PK Navas has been arrested on the grounds of complaint lodged by Haritha, he is still confident as he was supported by many senior leaders of the Muslim League. PK Navas participated in the tenth anniversary celebrations of Haritha Malappuram District Committee, the only committee of Haritha that backed him in the issue. Addressing the meeting, he said that MSF is not against women.

It is hinted that the Muslim League planning to form new state committee of Haritha by giving prominence to Malappuram district committee members. As the colleges are going to open, the need to constitute a new Haritha wing has become necessary to save the stature of MSF among the students, points those who support PK Navas.

The League leadership is trying to portray the arrest of PK Navas as a politically motivated act. However, a group in the MSF state committee believed that the way in which the Muslim League handled the complaint of Haritha worsened the issue.

This has been mentioned in the letter forwarded to Kunhalikutty by the eight office bearers including the state general secretary Latheef Thurayoor. They also alleged that the immature intervention of League state general secretary PMA Salam also struck back at the party. The reluctance to take disciplinary actions against the accused will tarnish the image for the party among the students.
