TVM: Man arrested for assaulting woman at Vanchiyoor

Thiruvananthapuram: Police have arrested the accused in the attack on the woman at Vanchiyoor on Thursday. The woman was attacked by a man who reached on a scooter while she was out on a morning walk. The incident was similar to the attack on another woman in the museum compound in October.

The accused has been identified as Sreejith, a resident of Karumam. Police traced the number of the accused’s scooter after receiving CCTV footage from the area. He was taken into custody from his home.

The woman was injured in the attack. The attacker fled the area as people started gathering after hearing the woman scream.

In October, a doctor was attacked at around 4:30 am inside the Napier Museum Park. Police had taken Santhosh, the driver of minister Roshy Augustine's personal staff, into custody in the case.
