Palakkad: ADGP Vijay Sakhare informed that the back-to-back murders that shook Palakkad in the last two days were pre-meditated. He was addressing the media here on Sunday. The probe team has received clear cut evidence pointing to the accused in both cases.

“We have received information about the murderers of SDPI activist Subair. The investigation will be completed without any hiccups. The accused in both cases will be caught as soon as possible. Five groups of police are investigating Subair murder case,” the ADGP said.

“The investigation into RSS activist Sreenivasan’s murder is progressing by centring around the CCTV footage. We have received tips on the suspects. Four groups have been formed to conduct the investigation. The accused will be caught soon. Many are being questioned in connection with the case and the investigation is progressing quite well. More details about the investigation cannot be revealed at this point,” Vijay Sakhare added.

RSS former Saririk Sikshan Pramukh Sreenivasan was hacked to death by a group of six men at Melamuri on Saturday. According to the preliminary reports of the police, political hostility between RSS and SDPI led to Sreenivasan’s murder. It is assumed that Sreenivasan’s murder was an act of retaliation over the murder of SDPI worker Subair in Palakkad. The FIR states that the accused arrived at Sreenivasan's shop with the intention of murder.
