Murder of mimicry artist: Woman and other accused get double life sentence

Kottayam: A woman who was accused of killing her lover over suspicion that he was backing out of their relationship got a double life sentence along with other accused. The accused were also sentenced to seven years of prison.

Lenish’s lover Thrikodithanam native Sreekala (55), owner of Naveen Home Nursing institution, is the key accused in the case. The other accused include quotation gang members Shijo Sebastian (28), Shyam Kumar(41), and Rameshan (38).

Mimicry artist and salesman Changanassery native Lenish (31) was brutally murdered, his body tied up in a sack and dumped on the roadside near Pambady on November 23, 2013. Lenish and Sreekala were in a relationship. Sreekala sought the help of the quotation gang to kill Lenish after she suspected him of having relation with another woman and thought that he would leave her.

Lenish was taken to the home nursing institution near SH Mount in Kottayam and murdered there. The gangsters carried his body in the autorickshaw of the fifth accused Manumon (24). Manumon was made a pardoned witness in the case.

Additional Sessions Court Judge V B Sujayamma gave the verdict in the case. The charges against them include murder, destroying evidence and conspiring to murder.
