Alappuzha: BJP state president K Surendran has raised sharp criticism against Kerala police over the murder of BJP leader Renjith Sreenivasan in Alappuzha. Addressing the media here on Saturday, he alleged that Kerala police fear the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the government locked the police from doing anything even after obtaining ample evidence against the accused.
He also alleged that the police even know the spots where the PFI terrorists get training, but nothing will be done on the matter as long as the government protects them.
'Those working at the head of Kerala police have close ties with PFI. It confirms that a sleeper cell is working in the state," he alleged.
He criticised the state government for reappointing suspended police officer Shajahan with promotion.
The BJP chief slammed the government for lapses in nabbing the accused behind the attack against left party workers and murder cases.
"The government turned a blind eye when people of its own party were killed and it is no wonder that they are doing the same when it comes to the case of BJP leaders,' he added.
