Murder attempt case accused leads protest march to police station; cops play ignorant
Thiruvananthapuram: University College Union Chairman Riyas, an SFI leader and the first accused in the case of attack against KSU activists, was one among those who led the SFI protest march to Cantonment Police Station here.
On Friday a clash between the SFI and KSU had taken place near the college. Riyas is the first accused in the case registered for the attack against KSU members and police. Case was charged against him under non-bailable offence.
Riyas took out the march to Cantonment Police Station where the case was registered against him. Riyas also attended the discussion held with Assistant Commissioner after the march which was conducted demanding to withdraw the case against SFI activists.
Even when a murder attempt case accused appeared before the police and held discussions with senior officials, cops were ignorant on it.
KSU has raised the complaint that police are not arresting the attackers. The new development comes in a situation where the allegation already exists.
However, police have not responded on the issue. At present six SFI leaders are under arrest in the case. When asked earlier on the attack case, police had responded that they are in search of other accused. But today when the accused appeared in front of them in person, they didn’t arrest him.
