MK Muneer, MN Karassery

Kozhikode: Muslim League leader and MLA MK Muneer said that Popular Front of India is useless to the society or community. “RSS and Popular Front are organisations with the same temperament. Hence, a balance is required,” said Muneer. He said that the society must get the merits of banning PFI.

“The ideology put forward by the banned organisation has to be swiped away. Their true nature was revealed with just a single day of hartal,” he said. Muneer condemned CPM and alleged that the party had received support of SDPI for an election once. An advertisement had then appeared in a vernacular newspaper asking to vote for Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Writer MN Karassery expressed his incompatibility with PFI, the organisation’s ideology and actions. However, he is not in agreement on banning the organisation, citing it as violation of democracy. The ideologies should not be suppressed using power or weapons in a democracy, said Karassery.

“The PFI leaders whom I know now were activists of a banned organisation. Another flag, slogan and office may appear tomorrow. Their attacks have to be confronted with law and opposing ideologies. Hence the idea of banning an organisation will serve no purpose,” he added.
