Mullappally welcomes HC verdict on Life Mission; says CM has lots to hide
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran on Tuesday welcomed the Kerala High Court verdict on the Life Mission project that allowed the CBI probe to continue.
“Why is Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan fearing the Central Bureau of Investigation probe when he repeats that his government is corruption-free. If he is sure of not being guilty, he should have displayed the courage to accept the CBI probe. But he didn’t. The CM has lots to hide and hence he is opposing the CBI probe,” Mullappally said.
CM had tried to make an impression using a Vigilance probe into the project. The HC verdict is a major setback to them. From day one, the government had tried to sabotage the probe. It is suspected that Vigilance took away many important files from the Secretariat to save the government, he further alleged.
Kerala is hopeful that the CBI probe will reveal the CM’s and his ministers’ role in corruption. Let this verdict be a step in creating a corruption-free political sector, Mullappally added.
