Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran stated that he has no plans to contest the assembly polls. He declared this in an election committee meeting held on Tuesday. The only aim is to bring the UDF in power, Mullappally said.
Veteran leaders V M Sudheeran and P J Kurian also informed that they will not enter the electoral fray this time. Among them P J Kurian stated in this regard in a written statement, it is learnt.
P C Chacko opined that those who contested four times should stay away from election. Sudheeran also opined in the meeting that those who were MLA for 25 years should keep away from polls.
The Congress election committee meeting is convened for the second round discussions on candidate selection for the upcoming assembly polls.
