Mullappally Ramachandran admits mistake in Pala, challenges CPM to remaining 5 bypolls
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran admitted that mistake has taken place the Pala bypoll.
Stating that the real verdict by the people will come after the polls to the five remaining assembly constituencies, Mullappally Ramachandran alleged that a strong emotion against the government was prevailing in the state.
“There is nothing in the Pala bypoll victory that the LDF and CPM can be proud of. The Chief Minister and other ministers misused their political powers in the constituency. Three-day holiday was declared for the secretariat,” he said.
Sating that the Congress had intervened in to solve the issues in Kerala Congress (M), Mullappally Ramachandran said the party had limitations in intervening in the issues of its allies. “The present result is only a mistake. UDF’s foundation is solid. We are challenging CPM for the bypolls to the remaining five assembly constituencies,” he added.
The Congress leader alleged that the CPM and BJP traded votes in Pala. Despite this, the CPM got 44 less than what it received during the last assembly elections, he said. Technically, UDF has been defeated in Pala, he admitted and thanked all the people who voted in favour of UDF.
