Malappuram: Muslim Youth League has lashed out against PK Kunhalikutty’s decision to resign from the MP post and contest in Assembly election next year. Youth League national vice president Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal stated that Muslim League leadership should reconsider this decision.

Kunhalikutty’s decision to resign the MP post is unexpected. This has left the leaders and party workers without any answers. It should be reconsidered and a decision that is acceptable to the workers and party loyalists should be taken. Kunhalikutty’s decision was taken at a time when Muslim League has been performing really well, Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal stated.

Mueen Ali Shihab Thangal is the son of Muslim League State Chief Hyder Ali Shihab Thangal.

Kunhalikutty’s decision to contest in the Assembly election was approved by the Muslim League working committee. Although there was difference of opinion within the party regarding this decision, this is the first time that a leader has openly criticised the decision.
