Gudalur: A digital survey has been conducted on the land granted for residents evicted as part of the tiger conservation project from Mudumalai. The survey was carried out in the property issued for 14 tribal families in Srimadurai village.

The eviction proceedings are progressing in Nagampalli, Puliyalam, Mandhakarai and Muthukuli regions in Mudumalai. Rs 10 lakh will be distributed to each household who was evicted from these localities. In addition to this, 58 tribal families will receive alternative land, house and similar basic amenities.

In the initial phase, the department of revenue has approved one acre land each for 14 families in Narimoola and 10 families in Chemundi.
