Movie theatres, indoor stadiums to open from Oct 25; upto 50 people allowed in functions
Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to open movie theatres after a long break. Theatres will open from October 25. Entry is limited to 50 percent of the seating capacity in the theatres. Air conditioning also is allowed.
The Covid review meeting held by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took the decision in this regard. The guidelines to open the theatres will be prepared prior to opening the theatres. The government took the decision following the frequent requests from people working in film industry.
Indoor stadiums also are allowed to open from October 25 bound by conditions. All the employees should be vaccinated with both doses of Covid vaccine. Also entry allowed to only those who received both doses of Covid vaccine. 50 percent of the seating capacity can be filled.
It has been decided to resume classes for all batches of students in colleges from October 18 including teachers, staff and students inoculated with both doses of vaccine. Covid negative certificate is not mandatory for entering various institutions. Instead of this, people should produce only certificate of receiving both vaccine doses.
Upto 50 people are allowed to take part in wedding and funeral ceremonies. Grama Sabhas can be convened from November 1 with 50 participants ensuring social distancing. Pre-metric hostels and model residential schools also will reopen on November 1 in bio-bubble model.
The colleges, hostels and schools which are used as CFLTC and CSLTC should be exempted. While recalling the teachers who are assigned Covid duty, other volunteers can be appointed for the same. The guidelines for school reopening also will be issued shortly.
