Tirur: As part of encouraging vaccination, health workers at Karulayi gifted new dresses to the tribal people who received the COVID vaccine. Each person who took the vaccine received one pair of dress from the vaccination centre. The health workers gifted new dresses to 130 people who arrived at 5 vaccination camps here.

The vaccination camps were held for the Cholanaykkar community of Mancheeri tribal colony and the Kattunaykkar community of Pulimunda tribal colony at Nilambur Karulayi forest range. Apart from administering the vaccine, the health workers also carried out a health check-up for the tribal people.

Most of the tribal people who refused to attend the vaccination camps complained that they don’t have good clothes to go to the centre. In response to this complaint, the health workers purchased new dresses for every person who received the vaccine.

The tribal people complained about having no good clothes to Aswathy Soman, mobile dispensary medical officer and KGMOA district joint secretary. Following this, KGMOA decided to purchase new clothes for the people who are ready to take the vaccine.

The KGMOA distributed clothes to the poor people in memory of Dr Sathyanarayan on his 6th death anniversary. He was an active member of the association.
