Kochi: There are moves within NCP to remove T P Peethambaran Master from the state president post of the party. As those who supported him in the state committee joined UDF, the demand for a new leadership has intensified.
The demand for a new leadership will be raised at the state level meeting held in Kochi on February 22. The leaders are unhappy as the state president still supports those who left the party. When Minister A K Saseendran strongly criticises Mani C Kappan who left the party, Peethamabran Master still takes a soft stand towards them.
The party workers demand that the leadership should be changed ahead of assembly polls. There are allegations that a person who is preferred by the Left wing leaders should be appointed.
The party has to find new employees to replace Sulfikar Mayoori who left the chairman post of Kerala Agro Industries Corporation and to appoint in KSRTC director board. There is a growing demand in the party that the leadership should be changed before the government expires.
