Thiruvananthapuram: There are efforts being done to remove A Padmakumar from the post of devaswom board president soon after the board took a u-turn on the Sabarimala issue at the supreme court on Wednesday. It is known that moves are being made to pressurise Padmakumar to turn in his resignation and to appoint M Rjagopalan Nair, who is presently the recruitment board chairman, to the post.
At the same time, the board president has sought a report on the change in stance on Sabarimala issue at the apex court, from the devaswom board commissioner, N Vasu.

It is known that efforts are being made to appoint Rajagopalan Nair as the board president and to appoint devaswom board commissioner, whose term has ended, as the recruitment chairman.
Meanwhile, Padmakumar condemned the stance taken by devaswom commissioner on the Sabarimala issue in the wake of wide protests being raised against the arguments presented at the apex court. In the petition seeking more time to implement the SC verdict, devaswom board had taken stand in favour of the state government.
Padmakumar alleged that many decisions of the devaswom board are being taken without the knowledge of the president.
