Motorcyclist killed after being hit by flying peacock on road in Thrissur


Thrissur: In an unfortunate incident, a man was killed after a flying peacock collided with his bike. Pramos (34), son of Mohanan of Peedikaparambil, Punnayoorkulam was travelling with his wife when the incident happened. His wife Veena (26) and another biker Dhanesh (37) were also injured.

The accident took place on Thrissur Ayyanthol-Puzhakkal road in front of a beverage outlet in Panchikal at 10 am on Monday. While riding his bike, a peacock flew across the road and hit Promos'chest. The bike lost its control and crashed into a nearby wall.

Dhanesh, another rider was also injured after the peacock hit his bike as well. Dhanesh, a paint worker, was on his way to work. He was later shifted to the hospital. The hospital officials said that Veena and Dhanesh are out of danger.

The peacock was also killed in the accident.

Pramos is an employee of a private bank on Marar Road, Thrissur. Veena is also an employee in a private bank on Thrissur Marar Road. The couple got married four months ago.

Forest Department officials received the peacock's body. Thrissur West Police Circle Inspector and Sub Inspector took further action into the case.
