Pathanapuram: A motor vehicle inspector was arrested for improper behaviour towards a woman during driving test. The officer at Pathanapuram RT office Kundara native AS Vinod was arrested by the police. He was in hiding for over a week after his bail plea was rejected by the High Court.
He surrendered before Punalur DySP the other day. The accused was handed over to Pathanapuram police and taken to the place where the incident took place for evidence collection. Pathanapuram Judicial First Class court remanded him.
The incident took place on July 19. The complainant, a woman hailing from Pathanapuram, alleged that the officer behaved inappropriately with her in an isolated spot during the driving test.
Vinod was suspended from duty after the complaint surfaced against him. Another woman had complained against him in 2017 on similar grounds while he was serving as motor vehicle inspector at the Kollam RT office.
