Malappuram: A KSRTC bus that was operating at night without two headlights was nabbed by the enforcement wing of the Motor Vehicle Department from Kottakkal on Monday. The packed bus was operating on the Tirur-Ponnani route.

After getting information about the bus, the officials nabbed the bus near Chamravattom bridge. The officials found that both the headlights of the bus were not working. They said that the bus was operating with the help of street lights and the headlights of other vehicles.

The Motor Vehicle Department escorted the bus to the Ponnani depot as the KSRTC officials refused to arrange an alternative for the passengers.

Officials said that action will be taken against those concerned. The inspection team comprised enforcement MVI PK Muhammad Shafeek, AMVIs KR Harilal and Vijeesh Valeri.
