Thiruvananthapuram: The parents of the Walayar girls who were allegedly raped and murdered, have handed over the letter seeking CBI investigation in the case to the Chief Minister’s office. The parents were accompanied by the leaders of the protest committee.
The mother of the children stated that government’s support on the matter was confined only in words and not in action.
“We did not meet the Chief Minister. We met secretary Mohanan. We want CBI investigation in the case under the supervision of the High Court. Government claims that they are with us. However, that is not reflected in their actions. For the government to regain our trust, action has to be taken against the officers who sabotaged the case. The investigation suffered a setback due to the intervention of DySP Sojan and SI Chacko. They have to be removed from service,” the mother stated.
