Woman kills herself after excise nabs her son in drug case in TVM

Thiruvananthapuram: In an unfortunate incident, a woman committed suicide after an excise team nabbed her son in connection with a drug case.

The deceased has been identified as Grace Clement (55), a native of Kadinamkulam, Thiruvananthapurm. She reportedly killed herself on Saturday morning.

An excise team on Friday evening nabbed Shino, the deceased’s son, for selling drugs in the area. They had seized 4 gram MDMA from the youth. Following the incident, Grace was in severe mental stress, said her relatives.

It is learnt that she tried to hang herself around 5 am on Saturday at her house. Soon after, she was rushed to a hospital by her relatives, but could not be saved.

Currently, the body is being kept at the mortuary in Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram.
