More complaints come up against Kalamassery MCH; deceased patient's relative demands probe
Kochi: The Kochi Govt medical college at Kalamassery has come under scanner following the death of a COVID-19 patient. It is reported that more people have come out with complaints against the medical college. Triggering another controversy, an audio message of Baihaki, a patient who died while undergoing treatment, came to light.
Through the audio message, the patient informed his brother that he needs to pay Rs 40,000 for the treatment at the medical college. Baihak told his brother that a special charge should be paid for the treatment.
At the same time, another complaint was raised in the name of Jameela who died while undergoing treatment at the medical college. Jameela’s daughter Hyrunnisa complained that her mother faced many issues in the ICU. According to reports, Jameela’s relatives will file a complaint seeking probe into her death. Jameela’s daughter also revealed that her mother complained of lapses in treatment.
Dr Najma who works at the medical college had revealed the other day that Jameela faced issues as the ventilator tubes in the ICU was not connected. Pointing out this statement, Jameela’s daughter demanded a probe into the matter. She asserted that she will handle the issue legally.
