Locals noticed the vehicle on Monday morning at 10.40 am near Nanniyode. One of the women in the car asked for directions towards Mankayam to a Nanniyode native. Police started the investigation as the woman looked similar to Swapna Suresh.
Following this, eco-tourism centres in Mankayam area and various other tourist centres were searched.
Triple lockdown was implemented in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. But, the vehicle, allegedly carrying Swapna, was spotted travelling the very next day.
Customs department is investigating Swapna’s whereabouts. The vehicle number is not visible in the footage as it was raining heavily. Efforts are on to collect CCTV footage from other sources.
