Kochi: Monson Mavunkal, who cheated crores of rupees in the veil of his antique collection, also had a currency counting machine installed in a luxury car he owned. Dodge, a luxury car was converted into a mini office with a laptop, computer and counting machine permanently attached to it.

It was also modified to make it look like an official foreign embassy vehicle to avoid being caught by the police. An inspection conducted by the Crime Branch exposed the truths.

He also had a wide array of luxury cars in his inventory and often used them to travel in a motorcade.

He also had police security at his houses. Citing security concerns, he managed to get police beat box placed at his residence in Kochi and Cherthala. The beat box point was installed at the gate of his house. Normally, police regularly visit the spot where beat box is installed to assess the security situation and record it in the register. Kochi Police Commissioner has now ordered an investigation into the circumstances that lead to the installation of the beat box in Monson’s residence.
