Kochi: In the controversial case against self-styled antique dealer Monson Mavunkal, the complainants have written a letter to the Chief Minister seeking a CBI probe into the case. In the letter to the CM, the complainants expressed dissatisfaction over the Crime Branch's probe into the case.
The petitioners alleged that the probe team tampered with the evidence.
Earlier, the people who lodged a complaint against Monson Mavunkal approached the High Court citing lapses in the probe.
In the report submitted before the court, the Crime Branch has given clean chit to the police officials who are accused of having links with Monson. The report cited that IG Lakshmana and others are not linked with the accused.
“The police officials only borrowed money from Monson Mavunkal. A patrolling book was arranged in front of Monson’s house at Kaloor to ease the police patrols as part of the procedure,” says the Crime Branch report.
Following this, the complainants wrote a letter to the CM and Police chief seeking a CBI probe in the case.
