Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Sabarimala palm leaf manuscripts in Monson Mavunkal’s custody are fake. He also informed the Assembly that an investigation has found that the palm leaf manuscripts were fake. The CM replied to the opposition leader’s question saying that the government had never claimed that the manuscripts were real.
It is not clear why former DGP Loknath Behera visited Monson’s house. The intelligence was asked to investigate following the suspicion raised over Behera’s visit. The CM said that he had asked the Enforcement Directorate for a detailed investigation based on the report.
The investigation is progressing. No one has raised any objection over the investigation into the case so far. In reply to the questions raised by opposition MLAs, the CM said that they should let the investigation progress and must not arrive at conclusions hastily.
There is no information about Monson participating in the COCON Police Conference. The CM made it clear that the antique collection will be investigated and strict action will be taken once the crime is proved.
